BATON ROUGE - A Baton Rouge murder suspect arrested in Memphis, Tennessee, after a woman's body was discovered in the passenger seat of a vehicle was extradited back to Baton Rouge, according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

Tyronne Brazille, 50, was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon on Friday.

Officials said officers with the Memphis Police Department discovered Lanessa Bradford, 50, dead in the passenger seat while conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle. Officers said that Bradford had suffered a gunshot wound.

Detectives later learned that Bradford and the driver of the vehicle, Brazille, were previously together at Independence Community Park on Independence Boulevard in Baton Rouge.

According to arrest records, while Bradford was away from the vehicle, Brazille claimed to look through her cell phone where he allegedly found messages, photographs and monetary amounts which caused him to believe that Brazille was engaging in prostitution.

Brazille told officers that while arguing, Bradford leaned toward her purse, causing him to retrieve his firearm from the center console of the vehicle before shooting Bradford.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Brazille fled the area with Bradford in the vehicle, driving through several states including Mississippi, Florida and Georgia before being stopped in Memphis for a traffic violation.

Brazille told officers that at one point during the trip, while in the Gulfport area, Bradford still appeared to be breathing; however, he did not take her to a hospital.
