NEW ORLEANS - The Saints fell to the Atlanta Falcons 45-24 on Monday Night Football.

The build up and pregame ceremonies was enough to fire up Who Dat Nation, but the Falcons quieted the Superdome on the opening drive. Falcons running back Bijan Robinson took off for a 59-yard touchdown run on the opening drive.

The Saints came close to getting on the board on their second offensive drive, but kicker Daniel Carlson missed a 52-yard field goal attempt to remain scoreless.

Atlanta would add to their lead in the final minute of the first quarter when Robinson rushed in a one-yard touchdown to put the Falcons ahead 14-0.

The Saints would push the ball down to the Atlanta three-yard line as the first quarter came to an end. Running back Alvin Kamara rushed in the first Saints touchdown of the day on the first play of the second quarter to make the score 14-7.

On their first drive of the second quarter, running back Brian Robinson Jr. put the Falcons up by two scores again when he rushed in a four-yard score for a 21-7 Atlanta lead.

The Falcons would add a field goal later in the second quarter for a 24-7 lead.

In the third quarter, the Saints were only able to muster up a field goal, but Kamara and Davaughn Vele each scored a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

However, it wasn't enough to top the Falcons' three touchdowns in the second half.

Former LSU Tiger and New Orleans native, Harold Perkins Jr., shined for the Falcons. Perkins finished the game with 10 total tackles, seven solo tackles, 0.5 sacks, one pass defended and one quarterback hit.

The Saints fall to 1-3 on the season. They are back at home on Sunday to host the Minnesota Vikings.
