TEAM 2 TRAFFIC: Eastbound traffic on I-10 near Louisiana-Mississippi state line severely backed up after crash
SLIDELL — Holiday travelers and others going eastbound on Interstate 10 near the Louisiana-Mississippi state line encountered severe delays Friday after a crash.
According to Louisiana State Police, a crash happened on the Mississippi side of the boundary, causing congestion that extended several miles into Louisiana. Traffic was backed up to the I-10/12/59 interchange near Slidell.
State troopers said the crash has since been cleared.
Eastbound drivers were being detoured to I-59 and then to Mississippi Highway 607. That is about a 24-mile detour.
