PORT ALLEN — A stalled oversized load is blocking both northbound travel lanes on La. 1, just south of Lafiton Lane near Placid Refining, the West Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office said on Tuesday afternoon. 

Louisiana State Police is currently on scene. Traffic is currently being allowed to pass on the shoulder; however, heavy congestion remains in the area.

Motorists are encouraged to use an alternate route, such as Lobdell Highway (LA 415) to U.S. 190, to bypass the incident.
