OXFORD, Miss. - Lane Kiffin's long-awaited return to Oxford finally arrived Saturday night as LSU lost to Ole Miss. 

Ole Miss got on the board first midway through the first quarter with a 37-yard field goal to put the Rebels up 3-0.

On the ensuing Ole Miss possession, quarterback Trinidad Chambliss led the Rebels on a six-play, 78-yard drive capped by a five-yard rushing touchdown from running back Kewan Lacy to extend the Ole Miss lead to 10-0.

With just under 10 minutes remaining in the first half, Ole Miss extended its lead to 17-0 as Chambliss connected with wide receiver Traylon Ray for a 21-yard touchdown.

LSU got on the board with just under two minutes remaining in the first half as running back Dillin Jones punched it in from two yards out to cut the Ole Miss lead to 17-7.

Ole Miss answered right back in the final seconds of the first half as Chambliss found wide receiver Deuce Alexander in the end zone for a 20-yard touchdown, sending the Rebels into halftime with a 24-7 lead.

A few minutes into the second half, Chambliss was intercepted by LSU cornerback Ja'Keem Jackson, setting the Tigers up at the Ole Miss 33-yard line. A few plays later, Leavitt capitalized on the turnover with a 4-yard rushing touchdown to cut the Rebels' lead to 24-14.

On the ensuing Ole Miss possession, the Rebels missed a 53-yard field goal attempt, giving LSU the ball back at its own 36-yard line. The Tigers took advantage once again as Leavitt connected with receiver Winston Watkins Jr. for a 26-yard touchdown with a little more than three minutes remaining in the third quarter, cutting the Ole Miss lead to 24-21.

The Tigers tied the game early in the fourth quarter, putting together a 55-yard drive that was capped by a 23-yard field goal to even the score at 24-24.

With just over six minutes remaining in the game, Ole Miss retook the lead as Chambliss found the end zone on a 14-yard run. The Rebels converted the ensuing two-point attempt to take a 32-24 lead.

LSU drove the ball down the field and, with two minutes left, got within 15 yards of the goal line. After a timeout, Leavitt threw a fourth-down pass intended for receiver Jackson Harris inside the endzone that bounced off a defensive lineman's helmet and was intercepted by Ole Miss to end the game.
