Sierra Nevada Graziers raw milk cheese recalled over E. coli concerns in Louisiana
BATON ROUGE — The Sierra Nevada Cheese Company recalled Sierra Nevada Graziers raw milk cheese due to a potential E. coli contamination, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.
The recalled products were distributed nationwide, with the Food and Drug Administration and Center for Disease Control and Prevention investigating a multistate outbreak of E. coli with 13 illnesses currently confirmed. During the investigation, illnesses have been associated with consumption of Sierra Nevada Graziers Raw Medium Cheddar, according to LDH.
Recalled products from Sierra Nevada Graziers include Raw Milk Monterey Jack, Raw Milk Jalapeno Jack, Raw Milk Medium Cheddar, Raw Milk Sharp Cheddar, Raw Milk Medium Cheddar, Raw Milk Monterey Jack loaves, Raw Milk Jalapeno Jack loaves, Raw Milk Medium Cheddar, Raw Milk Sharp Cheddar and Raw Milk Cheddar block.
Residents in Louisiana are advised not to eat any recalled cheese products and should throw them out or return them.
