BATON ROUGE — A pilot spent several hours flying a specific path over much of central Louisiana as the anticipation mounts for the LSU-Ole Miss game in Oxford, Mississippi, on Sept. 19.

On Monday, Joshua Gregory flew his single-engine Piper Cherokee PA-28-140 in a path that spelled "Come to the Sip" over the Acadiana and Capital regions of Louisiana, with Baton Rouge—and LSU's Tiger Stadium—being directly between "to" and "the" of the path. 

Gregory's flight originally took off from Batesville, Mississippi, but the flight path that he used to write the message began in Opelousas.

According to Gregory, the flight took 4.9 hours in the air, as well as 2.5 hours down in Baton Rouge and 2.5 hours back. He said it took three hours to program the flight path into his GPS. 

"Value of the enormous feedback received from 13 hours of work… PRICELESS," Gregory wrote on Facebook.

The pilot said that he was initially planning on coming public with the message and sharing a video of the flight path paired with Tiger Stadium staple "We Ready" by Archie Eversole closer to the Magnolia Bowl itself, but "decided to go ahead and stir the pot."

"I’ll just have to do another message for next week," he joked.
